Discount Calculator
Calculate the discounted price and amount saved from a percentage-off deal.
Result
Enter any two values and Numerila will work out the third.

Using your values:
Worked example
An original amount of 80 with a 25% discount gives a discount amount of 20 and a final amount of 60. Entering 80 and 60 gives the 25% discount, and entering 25% and 60 gives the original 80.
How we calculated this
This is a simple percentage reduction: discount amount = original amount × discount percentage ÷ 100, and final amount = original amount − discount amount. The three boxes are linked by that one relationship, so any two give the third. Numerila works with plain numbers rather than a specific currency, so amounts are shown without a currency symbol. Enter and read the figures in whatever currency you are working with. A discount percentage above 100 is rejected, since it has no ordinary meaning for a consumer discount, and so is a final amount larger than the original.
Amounts are worked out exactly from the numbers you type. Nothing is rounded to a currency's smallest unit, so round the amounts yourself if you need whole units of money.
A result written as a plain number is exact. A result starting with “≈” has been rounded to 10 significant figures, because its exact decimal never ends or is too long to read comfortably. When an exact value is long, its full digits are shown underneath. The calculation itself is never rounded: only the display is.
What this result means
The box marked Calculated holds whichever of the original amount, the discount percentage or the final amount the other two determine, and the result shows the amount saved and the final price.
Assumptions and limitations
- One discount at a time. This tool does not stack several discounts, a percentage above 100% is not accepted, and a final amount larger than the original is not a discount.
