What cookies and similar storage are
A cookie is a small piece of information a website can ask your browser to store and send back on later visits, often used to remember you, track your activity, or personalise content. Similar browser storage technologies (such as local storage) can be used for comparable purposes.
Numerila's current position
Numerila's calculators, converters and other tools do not use cookies. Every tool works from the information on the page in front of you, with nothing carried over between visits. The only browser storage Numerila's own code uses is a small record of your cookie and privacy choice, kept in local storage and described below. It does not identify you, does not track your activity, and is not used to personalise anything.
There is one optional exception. If you choose to allow analytics, the Google Analytics code that Numerila then loads sets two first-party cookies on numerila.com, listed in the next section. If you reject analytics, or have not yet chosen, they are not set.
Analytics cookies (only if you allow analytics)
These two cookies are set by Google's analytics code, delivered through Google Tag Manager, and only after you choose "Allow analytics" in the cookie banner or in "Cookie preferences". Both belong to the Analytics category.
_ga
- Provider: Google Analytics.
- Purpose: tells one browser from another, so that repeat visits can be counted as coming from the same visitor.
- Category: Analytics.
- Set: only after you allow analytics.
- Duration: Google's default is 2 years. Some browsers limit how long a cookie set by a script can last (Chrome, for example, to 400 days).

- Provider: Google Analytics.
- Purpose: keeps track of the current visit, so that its page views belong together.
- Category: Analytics.
- Set: only after you allow analytics.
- Duration: Google's default is 2 years, subject to the same browser limits as above.
When Numerila removes them
If you withdraw your analytics choice, Numerila stops analytics straight away and removes both cookies. The change also reaches any other Numerila tab you have open in the same browser. If a later page load finds that analytics is not allowed, for example because you withdrew earlier, Numerila removes them again. Only these two cookies on numerila.com are removed. You can also delete cookies yourself at any time (see "Browser controls" below).
Rejecting or withdrawing analytics never affects a calculator or any other tool.
Cookie and privacy preferences
Every page has a "Cookie preferences" control (in the footer) where you can allow or refuse optional analytics at any time. It also lists advertising personalisation and affiliate tracking, which are not in use on Numerila, so those two choices do nothing today. Your choice is stored in your browser's own local storage, not a cookie, and contains only which categories you chose, a version number for that choice, and the date you chose it. It never contains anything you have entered into a calculator, the search box, or any other tool.
All three optional categories are off by default. Analytics is the only one that does anything, and only after you allow it.
The analytics category controls whether Google Analytics 4 (GA4) runs. It runs only after you allow it, and it never receives anything you type into a calculator, the search box, or any other tool.
Advertising cookies are not currently active on Numerila at all, since no advertising script is present on the Site today. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.
You can review or change your choice at any time using the same control. Blocking or clearing your browser's local storage resets the choice back to "not yet decided", which also stops analytics. It never breaks any calculator.
Strictly necessary infrastructure
Like most websites, the underlying hosting and security infrastructure that serves Numerila to your browser may need to use a strictly necessary cookie or similar technology of its own, for example to protect the Site against abuse or to route a request correctly. This is standard infrastructure-level behaviour outside Numerila's own code, is not used to track you across other websites, and is not something we currently expect a typical visitor to need to manage.
Local tool processing
A calculator's inputs and results live only in the page's memory while you are using it. This is not a cookie or stored file, and disappears the moment you close or refresh the page.
The Currency Converter's network request
Converting a currency amount makes a live network request to Frankfurter, an independent exchange-rate data service, to fetch the current reference rate. This is a one-off request, not a cookie: no cookie is set by Numerila or, to our knowledge, by Frankfurter, as a result of this request. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is and is not sent.
Browser controls
Your browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies and site storage at any time, usually from its settings or privacy menu. No tool on the Site depends on a cookie to work, so blocking cookies should not affect your ability to use any of them.
Future updates
If Numerila's use of cookies or similar storage ever changes, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and will describe the change accurately rather than in general terms. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last substantively revised.
